APC Holds 6th AGM, Advancing Sri Lanka’s Packaging Industry
The Association of Packaging Consultants (APC) successfully held its 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 10 October 2026, bringing together its members to review the association’s achievements, discuss future priorities, and strengthen its commitment to the development of the packaging industry in Sri Lanka.
The AGM provided an important platform to reflect on the progress made during the past year, recognize the contributions of members, and establish a clear direction for the association’s future activities.
A Year of Knowledge Sharing and Professional Development
During the year 2025/2026, APC continued its commitment to advancing packaging knowledge and professional development through a series of training programmes and industry-focused initiatives.
Key activities included a workshop in July 2025 covering pre-press processes, gravure printing cylinder technology, and flexographic printing plate technology. In September 2025, the association facilitated an international training programme for the corrugated packaging industry in Hyderabad, India, providing participants with valuable technical knowledge and industry exposure. In March 2026, APC also organized a programme on film extrusion technology, further expanding its training initiatives across different segments of the packaging sector.
These programmes reflected APC’s ongoing efforts to promote technical excellence, encourage knowledge sharing, and support the continuous development of packaging professionals in Sri Lanka.
Strengthening the Future of the Packaging Industry
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration among packaging professionals, manufacturers, industry associations, and other stakeholders. As the packaging industry continues to face changes in technology, material costs, sustainability requirements, and market expectations, continuous learning and professional development remain essential.
APC recognizes that investing in people, sharing practical industry experience, and introducing new technologies are vital to improving productivity, quality, innovation, and competitiveness across the packaging sector.
Looking ahead, the association aims to expand its training programmes, facilitate knowledge-sharing opportunities with multinational companies and industry experts, strengthen cooperation with other professional associations, and engage with relevant government institutions on matters affecting the packaging industry.
A Collective Commitment to Progress
The 6th Annual General Meeting reaffirmed APC’s commitment to building a stronger professional community and creating opportunities for the next generation of packaging professionals. The association also recognizes the importance of mentorship, industry collaboration, and the transfer of knowledge from experienced professionals to emerging talent.
APC extends its sincere appreciation to all members, resource persons, industry partners, and supporters who contributed to its activities and achievements during the past year.
With renewed commitment and a shared vision, the Association of Packaging Consultants looks forward to another productive year of professional development, technical advancement, and meaningful contributions to the growth of Sri Lanka’s packaging industry.
